Sylvan Park is an existing park in Mountain View that has a wonderful gathering space on the north side of the park in an area off Glenborough Drive. This gathering space includes a trellis/arbor encircling an amphitheater, adjacent to a restroom building and playground. This space provides opportunities for enhancing social connections, physical activity and mental restoration for the community.
The City of Mountain View hired SSA to revitalize the space and replace the aging wooden trellis that was built in the 1980’s and had deteriorated. The trellis provides shade over game, and picnic tables and includes circulation space adjacent to the amphitheater. The project involved design and construction of a replacement trellis, upgrades to the existing restroom building, new concrete pavement and upgrades to the irrigation system, as well as replacement of the picnic and game tables. The project was completed in the Fall of 2024.
