Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, Sterling Barnhart Park offers local residents a place to play with their children, picnic, stroll around a native garden, or nap on a grassy knoll. After playing in the park, families can stretch their legs along the neighboring Stevens Creek Trail system whose access point is alongside the park. The creek's ecosystem played a large role in the selection of both drought tolerant and native plantings. Sustainable design principles were implemented in the use of low-flow irrigation to minimize water consumption, as well as utilizing eco-friendly and reclaimed materials such as wood and metal to reduce the urban footprint and impact on natural resources.
