Funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, this project, in partnership with USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Santa Clara County Water District, uses Recovery Act dollars to update aging flood control structures, protect and maintain water supplies, improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, enhance fish and wildlife habitat and restore wetlands. SSA developed revegetation, landscape and irrigation improvement plans for Lower Silver Creek Reach 4, 5 and 6A. The Lower Silver Creek Project provides flood protection as well as economic revitalization and aesthetic improvements to the communities that straddle the waterway.
