The City of Sunnyvale hired SSA to provide landscape architectural and engineering services for seven existing City Parks in need of rehabilitation. The parks included Washington Park, Victory Village Park, Encinal Park, De Anza Park, Ponderosa Park, Baylands Park, and Greenwood Manor Park. SSA was tasked with redesigning the playgrounds at each of these parks and replacing outdated play equipment based on the unique needs and budget of each playground.
This elementary age playground located in the eastern half of the park contained sand and worn play equipment installed in 1954. The sand was replaced with engineered wood fiber and the play equipment was replaced with traditional age-appropriate play equipment. ADA improvements were made to the existing path of travel as well.
